Cost of PMP Exam
While Project Management Professional exams can run higher than one might originally
think, the benefits clearly outweigh the cost, and you will most likely make that
money back very quickly as a certified PMP. So, how much is the PMP exam? Here are
some facts about the PMP exam cost:
All payments and examination procedures are done through the Project Management
Institute website, or the PMI. Although you do not have to become a PMI member,
it is recommended. If you do not want to become a PMI member, the PMP exam, including
application fees, will cost you $675. The annual membership fee for PMI is $149, with
an additional $10 application fee for new members, and you will receive a $250 discount
for the PMP exam, making the total examination fee $584. In the end, becoming a member
and taking the test will cost you less money, and provide you with a number of online
incentives including: a subscription to PM Network and PM Today published by the
PMI, access to a free version of the PMBOK® Guide reference text, discounts on project
management publications and resources; and more.*
While the PMP exam
will cost you some money, the benefits you will receive from
PMI and PMP certification will be well worth it in your professional career.
